Ever Free Every day now has both It’s blessings and challenges For which I have come to be grateful In this training ground of life. I would not want my time left Here in this world to be easy, Without obstacles to surmount or difficulties Which require me to reach deeper, To pray more earnestly and transform Myself, consciously and on purpose, In order to make it through The gauntlet of life and achieve This exalted state of being conscious, Present, loving and ever free. I am clear that my own mind Is the source of my experience— Whether it is blissful and joyful Or dark and miserable and Knowing this changes everything. For I am not now nor Ever have been the victim of Circumstance or bad relationships As my dark mind would have me believe… For to the degree I can control my mind And its thoughts, emotions, attitudes, beliefs And perceptions then I can certainly Be aware, conscious and ever free. I Have Seen The Lord Shaved heads, Crisp robes, Perfect bows And talking spiritual No longer impresses me, For I have seen the Lord Within my own heart And I know God is Interested in sincerity And innocence And can be attained Only with an open and loving Heart and a Pure, humble and Simple mind.
