Wind of Grace A cool breeze kisses My sweating and dirty face Just at the moment when I feel this work of Cutting long tangled grass On a steep hillside is Too much, too hard and Too challenging to be doing In the heat Of this long afternoon. The breeze steadies into a Light, cool wind which Immediately reminds me That the One who sent me here Is forever with me still, Ready to help this son Whenever I start to slip into The morass of the mundane mind That chants “I can’t and don’t wanna” And will drain away All of my light and power If I listen and give in. This wind of grace Arises suddenly out of nowhere And now here and sweeps over My hot body, whispering its Message of wisdom and strength, At the moment I am faltering, To raise me back up Into the realm of power So that, even in this heat, I am ready, willing and wanting To do whatever must be done In the lifting lilting flow of Divine grace and pure Love. Natural Delight This garden is a sanctuary, Even though the road runs near, Because ever plant that can flower is Blooming now, even those who haven’t for years. I revel in the simple pleasures That my life increasingly contains, And to sit here now, after exhausting work, Releases all strain until only joy remains. The coming storm of summer rain, Extremely rare where we live, Makes everything shimmer in anticipation Of all the delight that nature has to give. Though summer has just begun, We know there are scorching days ahead… But now, as the sky darkness with heavy clouds, I am content, and my soul is sweetly fed. June 7, 2017

Special Sacred Things I now watch Everything around me— Trees, people, land, Even the streets Of our little town Become illuminated And shine With sacred tremulous Light When I consciously Choose to Love Everyone and everything, Transforming Even the most mundane Into the special sacred Thing it always Really is. Outside the Tangle
Why do you stay in prison,
Weeping and trembling,
When the iron door is
Kept unlocked and
Always wide open to the
Inviting green fields
And infinite blue sky?
Simply move outside,
Away and forever free
From the terrible tangle
Of a mind caught in
The painful trap of
Fearful thinking.
Learn to live in the
Blissful silence of the heart
Which knows nothing of pain,
But everything about Love,
Which is and always has been
Your own sweet true nature.
