AMAZINGLY POSITIVE INNER and OUTER CHANGES from Daily Spiritual Practices and Intense Prayer
This challenging year has driven me to focus more and more on prayer and meditation, which is bringing unexpected and sudden positive changePLUS a sweet short movie by Chinmayan!
SUNRISES AND SUNSETS on Still Mountain and surrounding special places…a short video by Chinmayan.
Those golden moments when the sun is coming up at the dawn of a new day or going down with the coming night are sacred times that are most supportive of deep meditation and empowered prayer, when it is easiest to connect with the Divine and shift from being focused on doing things in the outer world and coming into the sweet nurturing space of your own inner sanctuary, where it is peaceful, loving and silent.
SUNSETS ARE A TIME OF MAGIC and MYSTERY
“There I something magical
about the way a sunset can make
us feel at peace, grateful
and alive all at once.”
—Morgan Harper Nichols
SUNSETS ARE THE PERFECT TIME FOR PRAYER and MEDITATION
“Sunsets are so beautiful
that they almost seem
as if we were looking
through the gates of heaven.”

AMAZINGLY POSITIVE INNER and OUTER CHANGES From Doing My Daily Spiritual Practices and Intense Prayer
I admit that I am in shock at the moment.
Not about anything bad but from some things that are so wonderfully and unbelievably good, that I am only now beginning to fully appreciate them.
On the spiritual path, to make progress you have to be ready to change as you grow, heal and get results from your meditation and prayer practices.
If you have been on your own spiritual path for any length of time, you already know that in order to truly make lasting progress you must be ready, willing and wanting change when it is called for.
I refer to it affectionately as my CPM rate, which means Changes Per Minute.
On the spiritual path, sometimes your CPM rate is very slow, like swimming through molasses…and at other times, when you are really cooking it up, your CPM rate is so high that its like being strapped to a rocket shot into space.
The seasoned spiritual warrior is prepared for and values either, and is neither frustrated and concerned when progress is slow nor overwhelmed or afraid when the pace off change keeps increasing.
I have been at the high end of the CPM spectrum for years, but this year has been so intense with so many challenges on so many levels I have sought sanctuary and guidance through ramping up my prayer and practices.
It is a wonderful thing that, once you have established your meditation and prayer practice to the point where you love it and are getting results, that those results keep on multiplying.
Then, the more intensely you practice, the stronger and more profound the results as you build towards a breakthrough.
In my experience, my daily spiritual practices are always driving a higher and higher CPM rate, as I focus more and more of the three precious resources we all have…Time, Energy and Attention, on it.
The more you put into your practices, the more results you get…except that you often do not know what those results are until they create a major shift.
I am in the midst of a breakthrough on many levels.
I am still in a little bit of shock.
Most of the breakthroughs are completely internal, occurring beyond anything I can describe in words, as my vibrational frequency and consciousness are being enhanced.
The outward manifestations that shook me up are actually wonderful.
A sudden simple change that is going to make a huge difference—Suddenly seeing how to create a new much better writing studio aboard my tiny house.
This afternoon, as I was working on this newsletter at my tiny desk in my tiny house next to a tiny window, I suddenly keyed into my inner guidance as if I had switched on a loudspeaker.
I got very clear instructions to get up and start clearing the dinette area of this tiny house.

For the next three hours, I simply followed the directions of the inner guide, telling me what to do step by step.
The dinette is an area that has been extra counter and storage space for the little galley kitchen.
Suddenly, I understood that it could be completely transformed into a much bigger and better writing studio than I have been using at the tiny desk, which was cramped, crowded and limited in use.
I moved everything off the old dinette table, clearing it completely.
I got the guidance to put our microwave into an overhead cabinet, where it fits perfectly.
I removed the old dinette table and saw that a desk could be created if we had the right top.
The inner guide suggested going to our store room and after a short search, I found a very high end ballet mirror 6 feet long and two feet wide, that is a inch thick, with a sturdy stainless steel frame.
I had forgotten we had it tucked away out of sight, but when I pulled it out, I realized it is the perfect size…as if we had stored it away years ago for this very purpose.
I dollied it out to my tiny house and it slid right into place to become my new desk.
It is stunning what a difference it makes.
I was guided to the perfect office chair, also in the storeroom, so now my new, much bigger and better writing studio has been created.

I am writing this issue of “The Dawning Light” from this new studio. It has the most beautiful desk of my life, with the mirror surface which is ten times bigger than the tiny desk.
It is the perfect height for writing and doing calligraphy.
There is plenty of space for all the materials and workbooks I need.
There is a bright overhead lamp , also perfect for illumination as I work.
There is a large sliding window almost the width of the desk, which looks north and gives a expansive view of all the fields surrounding Still Mountain all the way to the mountains. I will have good views of both the sunrise and sunset from this chair.
This space has been here for all the years I have lived aboard this tiny house, but I did not see this amazing new studio until having a spiritual breakthrough which created a higher level of consciousness that allowed me to see important things in an entirely new way.

A Writer's Sanctuary
Your story of the new desk and work area resonated with me! I just recently set up a new workspace for myself (in a closet, of all places!). Since we moved into this new house almost 2 years ago, I had no real, official office. I was a laptop hobo, traveling from room to room to do my writing. There was a certain freedom in that, but...
My husband and I went to a thrift store and bought a beautiful old desk (I mean, really old, and heavy!) and muscled it into the large closet in our extra bedroom. I have gotten more work done in the past two days than in the past two years!
The lesson here? It is so important to designate a special place for your practice, a place where you have room to spread out and "become"...
Congrats on the new desk and workspace. I wonder what the significance of a mirrored desktop is? Food for thought.
