BEING HERE NOW…
Whenever I take the time to work my way into deep prayer and meditation, in that state of stillness and focus on the divine, I become aware of so many higher possibilities that are now available to us as a result of all the spiritual growth during the harsh winter we have just gone through.
One of the most important is I am now able to live each moment being fully present in the here and now to a much greater degree than ever. My ability to Be Here Now has grown and expanded through having to constantly deal with very hard circumstances nearly everyday of this hard winter.
This winter was the most intense and overwhelming of our lives together and required us to be at our very best to overcome the challenges and make it through.
I learned a long time ago about the power of living in the present moment— that it is only through being present, right here, right now that we are fully alive.
This moment is precious, yet our habitual tendency is to be living through either reviewing the past or thinking about the future.
I have learned to gently bring myself back into being present, whenever I become aware that I have fallen back into the old habits which do not serve me.

I know that the past is over, and can’t be changed, so unless I am reviewing the past consciously in order to heal or complete a painful experience or learn from my mistakes…I leave the past in the past and stay in this very moment.
I know the future is unformed, and uncertain but as long as I am living in the present, I can greet and anticipate what is coming in a positive way that is free from worry.
It is a total joy to simply live and breathe one present moment into the next in a seamless flow of loving awareness.
Living in those old ways is like watching a movie that is so out of focus that nothing can really be seen or touched or understood very well.
It's like walking through thick fog while trying to find my way to a place I have never been to before.
But, by being present, everything in our movie comes into instant sharp focus and it is so much easier to see where we are going and how to get there.
When we are not living in the present moment, it makes life so much more difficult and challenging than it needs to be because our awareness and natural abilities are severely limited.
But the bigger problem for all of us is that very few of us have learned to live in the present, or even know what it's like to BE HERE NOW.
This is one of the first benefits and results of meditation practice—-learning how to come back in to this very present moment.
Fortunately, it is simple and something you can definitely develop with just a little training and practice.
The good news is that I am preparing to launch our Meditation Training Intensive course soon online so that, wherever you are, you will be able to learn authentic meditation and start your own personal effective and highly satisfying practice.
Before we launch, we will be sharing much more about the course and why every one needs this practice that you will love and want to bring into your life in upcoming issues.
Meanwhile, you can start by simply taking five minute mini breaks where you sit still, focus your attention on watching your breath and simply noticing the sounds, sights, smells around you, the sensations in your body and the thoughts passing through your mind as if you were sitting on a river bank and watching the water of the river flowing by—what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like.
You will be amazed at the results of consciously taking these 5 minute minute breaks. You may not know it yet, but you need it. Give yourself this gift of 5 minute time outs to be with and take care of your self.
Enjoy!
