Even though it is cloudy and overcast outside, I woke up knowing that today is going to be a breakthrough day.
I can almost feel the earth shifting under my feet as I proclaim this powerful affirmation.
I Am grateful for all the positive changes that are happening now, today and everyday.
Our lives, and the growing love we share with each other, is getting more amazing and wonderful by the minute.
The quality and trajectory of our lives is shaped by the choices we make…and one of the most important choices we have to make every day is how to use and what to do with our three most precious resources…our time, energy and attention.
Since I want to make the most out of this grand opportunity of life, I know I must live intentionally.
To me this means making choices consciously and constantly looking for the better, clearer way forward…and being ready to make changes when they are needed.
It means learning from my mistakes and applying what I learn to improving how I live and work and relate with others.
It means doing things deliberately, but mindfully and prayerfully,
My crazy work schedule for writing, editing and publishing “The Dawning Light”
For all the months since launching “The Dawning Light”, I have been doing the writing, editing and publishing during the night…usually working from 10 pm straight through until 5 or 6 am.
It takes that long to reach that magic moment when the current issue is fully cooked and ready to send out into the world by hitting the “Publish to Everyone” button.
Then, I would take a prayer bath and finally stumble off to bed and a deep sleep until noon the next day.
I kept up this insane work pace because I know how important it is to keep a reliable and consistent publishing schedule….and the hours of the night were the only ones where I had uninterrupted stretches of time.
To my credit, keeping our publication schedule is so important to me, that I have missed only one issue (when I was having a major back attack).
Every night,I have pushed through every obstacle—such as exhaustion, computer and internet problems, accidentally erasing just finished stories, and many more…and just kept on keeping on through the hours, no matter what, to reach the goal.
But staying up all night to work on this labor of love has been rough on me and rough on our relationship too because Ani is on a more normal sleep pattern,so we have not had any mornings together.

The coming spring is a time of liberation and renewal. The warming days will bring an end to having to invest huge amounts of time, labor and effort to make firewood to supplement our income.
I am now taking steps to shift this to a much more sane and sustainable schedule, with Ani’s support.
Now that Spring is starting to blossom, the incessant demand for firewood will come to a screeching halt…as the fire in everyone’s stove will no longer be needed as the days and nights get warmer.
This is a kind of liberation because every aspect of making firewood, from harvesting it in the mountains to unloading and processing here at our yard is labor and time intensive.
Its also hard physical labor that leaves me wrung out and exhausted by the end of the work day…all for a mere pittance in payment.
Now that demand is evaporating, I will have all those hours and days free to refocus and bring balance to our schedule.
Making positive changes is simple when they are necessary and timely.
Last night, I started work on “The Dawning Light” in the early evening...and was able to publish the day’s story five hours earlier that I had in months.
I was rested and had plenty of physical and mental energy, which made the work much easier.
After my prayer bath, I went to bed in the wee hours and had a deep sleep.
This morning, I was able to get up, have my precious espresso and get busy with writing, meditation and prayer by 8:00 am.
A full day is ahead, ready and waiting for me to use as I choose.
I am sitting here awash in WOW!
It is wonderful to be fully up , awake, alert, energized and excited this morning.
We have ambitious plans for this day, as we pivot into new directions. I love the power flowing through my mind, my body, my heart and my spirit as I keep affirming…
“Today and everyday from now on is going to be a breakthrough day!”
