MOZART And The DIVINE SYMPHONY At Thirty Seven Thousand Feet String and winds vibrate Their lush music Over my head phones— Taking me higher into A clear space of Ancient harmony, As a vast carpet Of mountain desert Spreads to the horizon Below our speeding airliner. Clumps of gentle silky clouds Sail majestically through The clear morning sky. Dry river beds and dusty dirt Roads snake among Thin trees, along ridges, Through canyons and valleys As the earth turns below Our silver wings— Revealed from this high Perspective in a way That I always slowly forget When earthbound in Our day to day life of Working in the ordinary World of men— I see the earth Sculpted by the divine’s Unseen hand, the Fields and geometric towns And tiny houses and highways With tiny cars traveling on them— All done under the influence Of the divine, like Everything else on earth. And it makes my heart sing To discover and know And see this underlying Pervasive and sacred harmony— In vast stretches of land Untouched by men— Man’s work touched by God’s hand—this music Written by a man, performed By men and women, but Flowing like God’s grace, Created out of the Lord’s Creative stream— My own Journey, my life, all of The lives on this airplane Touched and guided by the Divine—even for those Who do not yet realize it. JOURNEY INTO THE HEART OF LOVE On A Morning Flight To Rejoin My Beloved Bright clear sunshine Cascades across The little folding table, As we suddenly begin our descent, And the vast city itself Spreads out in all directions Below us. We feel The engines rumbling as We fall and I listen to The tower talking to Our Captain as we Come closer and closer To rejoining earth again. The crystal mala around my neck Suddenly throws rainbows Across the page and Around the cabin of fellow Travelers hushed in anticipation As we bank in a long arc— Lining up with the runway At six thousand feet, Preparing to land. I watch buildings enlarge As we pass them At hundreds of miles per hour— I watch toy cars And play life below us Slowly become bigger and Bigger just like The real life into Which I must flow When I leave this plane, After our wheels touch earth And we have rolled To a stop at the terminal On this morning journey, Blessed with sunlight and A joyous reunion with my Heart’s beloved… A journey of Sweet perfection into The heart and soul of love.
