MY NIGHTLY VOYAGE TO THE SANCTUARY OF BLISSFUL HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS I ride my cloud like bed as we sail Through the night, like a little boat Being tossed on the sea of possibilities, On a journey to find a safe harbor where Still waters are glass smooth and so quiet That I can stop working, doing and moving For a while and enter the sanctuary of deep Deep rest, a slumber so sweet and pure That my only dreams are of being with God. I am aware that I have become so exhausted From my labors out in the mundane world That this nightly voyage to my own inner space of Peacefully abiding bliss is my one greatest need. The further afield I go in seeking to serve the world In all the ways I hear the Divine calling me to do, The more I shed the skin and crush the ego’s view And ancient hold over this magnificent soul, The more I need these nightly meetings with My heart’s true and eternal Beloved, The more I need to make that shift in consciousness That is like waking up from a much lower life, A shift in consciousness where I suddenly awaken To who I really am and feel the surging delight Of compassion, love and awareness illuminating This ordinary mind which then becomes all That it really is— bright, shining, and free, ruled by love alone in ever expanding awareness.
