MOST OF US ARE LIVING WITH OUR MINDS FOCUSED IN THE PAST OR THE FUTURE AND ARE RARELY IN THE PRESENT MOMENT
The more we train ourselves to live life in this present moment, the richer, sweeter and more beautiful our lives become.
It is a fact that most of our thoughts are tied up in either reviewing the past or thinking about our future.
This is a source of most of our stress and unhappiness, which most of us have accepted as “that is just the way it is.”
But one of the greatest life changing things I learned from my teachers is the amazing power, beauty and benefits of training yourself to constantly return to being here now in this very present moment.
All enlightened people live solely in the present moment for only the present moment is real, is where life can be fully lived, where we can be fully awake, aware, loving and conscious.

THE PAST IS OVER AND GONE AND THE FUTURE IS YET TO BE
The past is over and unchangeable—all we can do is change how we relate to our past through healing and releasing ourselves from being so affected by it.
The same thing applies to the future…which is beyond our control. All our stressing and worrying about the future is a waste of your precious time, energy and attention.
As I have learned this principle through being with my teachers and observing them always maintaining their high states of consciousness through living solely in the present moment, I have emulated their example in my own life.

ALL THE GOOD THINGS WE WANT AND NEED IN LIFE ONLY HAPPEN IN THE PRESENT MOMENT
Here is the bottom line—You can’t really have lasting happiness, peace of mind, share deep growing love with yourself or others, or tap into the power of your own inner resources until you learn to live in this very present moment.
It takes practice and a clear awareness of your own state of mind, which is best developed through daily authentic meditation practice, but it is worth any amount of effort and perseverance to attain it.
The only way to live a stress free, happy life of greater love and fulfillment is….THROUGH LEARNING HOW TO BE HERE NOW ALL OF THE TIME.
This is a vital part of my own spiritual path and practice that I now understand is absolutely vital to learn and attain. I still work on this every day.
When I fall out of being in the present, my consciousness and awareness immediately start to go dark as if a light switch has been turned off.
As soon as I notice this has happened, I bring myself back in to the present moment. Instantly, my state of mind is restored to being clear, loving and expansive.

ONCE YOU TASTE THE TRUE POWER OF BEING HERE NOW, YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO BE ANYWHERE ELSE
Seriously, once you taste the true power of being here now in this very present moment, you will never want to allow your mind to be anywhere else.
It’s radically different from “normal” way of being tied up in the past or the future—It is like having the most delicious, healthiest and beautiful gourmet food after eating rotting food from a dumpster all your life.
I will share much more on this subject in the next issues of “The Dawning Light”, including some practical tips you can use to grow your own ability to come back into the present moment at will until you live HERE NOW all the time.
Meanwhile, as much as you are able, simply remind yourself to become very present in this moment itself.
One way is to sit still, mindfully watch your breath as it comes and goes from your lungs and simply focus on feeling the feelings in your body, listening to each sound around you, notice the colors of things, and the smells…and just be here with wherever you are.
Training yourself to be present will take effort and practice over time, but if you want it, you will be able to develop it.
You will be amazed at how much of a difference it makes in the quality of your life…being here now multiplies your ability to experience all the good and beautiful things.
BEING HERE NOW is the ultimate sanctuary for in the present moment you are released from stress and strain and can find solutions for moving forward..
Moment by moment.
