THE POEM FOR TODAY: THIS MORNING’S LONELY WAY TO MY DESTINY OF FLIGHT “We were born into this world with a secret Hidden in our hearts which can only Be discovered day by day as we learn The joy of sharing love which is and Will always be our soul’s sweetest delight. —Yeshe Gyamtso Mornings come and mornings go, And in each one that Comes to me, I reach out With my hands and my heart For the Divine light that Must be brought to earth, And within, within for the Love That needs to be set abroad. In this, I am just like a Great bird resting high in a pine tree Through a long, cold winter night For the dawn I know must come… For the way of light in which I fulfill my destiny of flight Over this hurting and troubled world, Seeking the ways in which I may help, Even if it just in inspiring Others to remember their own wings, And that they were born to soar And that the vast sky awaits Their feathered ascension up and away From tangled earthbound points of view— Thus, as I fly, my wish for all of you is To recognize who you are and what to do!
