WE ALL NEED TO BE LIVING WITH OUR HEARTS OPEN IN LOVE
We all need to be living our lives with our hearts open and flowing with love…
Yet, even though we all we need love to thrive and really be happy, most of us are living our daily lives with our hearts tightly closed most of the time.
If we are fortunate, we have had moments when our hearts opened—such as when we were “falling in love” with our life partner or holding our baby in our arms or sharing closeness with a dear friend.
But life is often challenging.
We all go through painful experiences, where we get hurt, our trust is betrayed, or we suffer heartbreak and loss.
Even going through “normal” daily life is hurried, stressful and overwhelming.
Then, day by day, our hearts close to protect and defend ourselves from having to feel the hurt, fear and pain.
This happens without our being aware of it, and over time living with a closed heart becomes our habit and a condition.
It becomes our “default” or normal position in life.
We get used to it and it gets hard to remember what it felt like to have our hearts open.
And yet, inwardly, we all need love more than anything else.

We long for the joy, power, consciousness, healing and all the other great and necessary things we get from living in an open hearted loving state.
The good news is that it is possible and can be attained through meditation and inner work.
For myself, and many people I have taught over the years, one of the most helpful things is to consciously use simple but powerful spiritual practices that raise your vibrational frequency so that your love starts flowing…
And the easiest and most effective is to sing or chant the Mantra of Love and Compassion:
OM MANI PAYDMEH HUNG!
Since I received this amazing mantra from Kalu Rinpoche more than 50 years ago, it has been my primary spiritual practice which has steadily transformed my consciousness so that now I live from a space of a wide open and loving heart all of the time.
I will share much more about this awesome practice in coming stories, but for now I invite you to take it for a “test flight” by listening to and chanting with these videos below.
There is nothing better for you nor more blissfully addictive than feeling Pure Love flowing through your heart…and chanting this mantra is one of the very best ways to tap into that abundant inner spring we all carry within our own hearts!
