WRITING IS MY LIFE’S PURPOSE, PASSION AND SPIRITUAL PATH
Writing is a vital part of my spiritual path as breathing—and it is my way of serving and making a difference in this pain filled but beautful world.

Thick fog is swirling around Still Mountain this morning, covering everything in a mantle of grey.
I woke up in a haze, like this fog, obscuring my usual sunny optimistic attitude, with feelings of fuzzy minded confusion.
So I have brought myself to this beautiful new desk with its view of wide open fields in a effort to burn through the mists obscuring my soul with music I love and taking refuge in these keys and get into the flow of writing.
Why Writing Is Very Important To Me
Writing is far more to me than just the crafting of pretty words all in a row…its my way of finding my way to greater clarity.
It is a meditation of ideas that can lift me to heights reachable only through giving voice to my deepest feelings.
It is a path that winds through the highest, most magical spaces where there are no limits on what I am able to see, know and express.
It is working with my own mind and heart in a way that allows me to express the very best, most divinely connected parts of myself.
Its a journey with an unknown destination when I take the first steps, and write the first words and simply follow the shining path wherever it leads.

Writing is as important to me as breathing, and as necessary.
Writing is a way of finding myself and revealing to myself what I need to see and understand which can’t be seen any other way.
When I rise up into a state of high flow in my writing, its like climbing up a steep mountain to its peak, which gives me a higher perspective on all of life.
A Sudden, Unexpected Spiritual Awakening Changed My Life’s Focus and Trajectory
Writing has been a central focus of my life ever since a sudden, unexpected and dramatic spiritual awakening one summer afternoon in 1964.
Before this happened, I was intending to be a scientist, had been studying and training on that path for years.

Since I was 9 years old, I had an extensive laboratory for archaeology, paleontology and nature studies which absorbed most of my free time.
I had never written anything or had any interest in writing other than school assignments.
I felt secure and happy that my life’s path was already clear to me, which pleased my parents, and made them proud.
But, seemingly out of the blue at the time, I had a major awakening which I now understand was a dramatic opening of my heart, returning to my own true nature and taking up the spiritual path I have been on for so many past lives.
Within half an hour, I went through a complete transformation, like a caterpillar in the chrysalis emerging as a full grown butterfly.
I became fully aware of my own inner world and the true purpose of life being spiritual growth…and I began writing prolifically as rivers of words that demanded to be written down started flowing through my mind.
It was as if I became a completely different person. The scientist disappeared, and I lost all interest in the studies that had been so consuming before. I locked up my lab and never went back.
From then, I was actively writing one poem after another as if my life depended on it…and in that thrilling flow of creation found my way into a new, larger unlimited world which I have been exploring ever since.

Writing is my way of serving the world, and being there for others
It was not a trivial thing to me, as I realized it was a gift bestowed upon me from a higher source to serve the world.
This gift of the talent and passion for writing was never meant to be a private experience for my own pleasure, but something I understood from the beginning to be a mission from the Divine that was coming through me to make a difference for others.
From then on, I consciously was led to study with all the great writers of past and present that were within my reach on the island where we lived.
I knew that, as inspired and on fire as I was, I needed to learn the craft and constantly improve my writing as a path to mastery.
From that day until now, that has always been the focus, as the prolific flow of writings has continued every day, filling hundreds of workbooks with poetry, stories, articles and inspirational writings.
But, I am aware that none of those writings, or the writing that still to come into expression through me in the time ahead, will not ever help or touch or inspire or teach anyone anything unless I also master publishing and marketing.

I have been studying publishing and marketing for years through on line resources.
I am grateful that we now live in a time when all the trainings and knowledge and resources I need to learn marketing and publishing are so readily and abundantly available on the internet.
I am also very grateful for this platform, Substack, which gives me a fully supported way to publish and the complete freedom to write and publish as I feel called to do.
Now that I am publishing “my writings” everyday to a growing audience of readers who love, appreciate and are inspired and helped by my work, I am finally fulfilling my destiny and doing the work I was sent here to do.
That is leading to so many positive changes.
Because writing is so important to me, I am investing my self in body, mind and spirit into this work, which is creating the space for it to blossom in ways I couldn’t have foreseen…
And I know that I will continue writing and publishing until my last breath…
Because this truly is what I was born to do… to serve the world.
