Thank you for sharing…I have learned that all “great Loves” are gifts of grace that come into our lives in response to a very deep longing in our hearts that we are born with…
As Rumi says (in a translation published here) “Lovers don’t just finally meet somewhere—they are in each other all along…” and when we meet, it is as if we have always known them, and we are simply taking up the relationship again from where we left off in a previous lifetime…Because of all the work we have done with each other in previous lifetimes, the relationship flows and communication is the very highest level from the first moment of coming together as two persons who recognize each other as “the one”. And yet, in our case, exterior forces caused us to be separated against our will. Our connection is still very much there on a soul to soul communication level…but we are not together as the currents of life took us in different directions…
But, my dear friend, a great Love may appear at any time…even when least expected or we no longer believe it is possible. All that is needed to want to share a close Love relationship and be living with an open heart, and be ready to recognize it if it comes. I have found in my own life that greater and greater Love has flowed into my life as I have consciously worked on developing a deep and real Love relationship with my self. I have found this to be hardest of all…to learn how to love, respect and appreciate myself!
